Discussion Questions Passage: Psalm 96:1-13
Re-read verses 1-6 and Discuss:
- If you had to describe God, what words would you use? Why?
- How can we know that God is sovereign over all?
Re-read verses 7-9 and Discuss:
- What makes God worthy of your worship?
- How do we worship God both privately and publicly?
Re-read verses 10-13 and Discuss:
- How should God’s majesty and impending judgement affect my decisions and actions each day?
- What does it mean to say the people of God are to be holy? Practically speaking, what does holiness look like in daily life?
- What is your response to the truth that God is sovereign over the nations? How does your response compare to the instruction in Psalm 96?
Exercise: Let’s put this passage into practice. Because God is worthy of more worshipers and we are called to share the gospel with others, break up into groups and practice sharing the gospel with one another using the 3 Circles evangelism method as a guide, using the prompts below.
God’s Design Passage: Genesis 1:27, 31
Sin & Brokenness Passages: Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23
The Gospel Passages: I Corinthians 15:3-4; John 1:12; Romans 10:9
Assignment: Try sharing the gospel with one person this week and be ready to debrief how it went next week.
